Supported schools programme
Moving to trust status
Each school on the supported schools programme will have a core
entitlement that can be tailored to meet its particular needs. The
entitlement is designed to guide the school, its governors and
partners through the process of moving to trust status,
providing for regular review of progress against an agreed timeline
in order to maintain momentum and provide early warning of need for
further support. The entitlement consists of:
- For a single school - 2 days of consultancy support
- For a cluster of schools – one day of consultancy support for
each individual school, plus one additional day for the cluster
(the consultancy days can be pooled together and used collectively
if preferred)
- Free attendance at TFSP events including opportunities to
network with other trust or foundation schools
- Termly newsletters

Moving to foundation status
All schools wishing to change their character to a foundation
school in the first instance before progressing to trust status, or
simply wishing to become foundation, will have access to a core
entitlement that can be tailored to meet its particular needs. The
entitlement is designed to guide the school and its governors
through the process of moving to foundation status, providing for
regular review of progress against an agreed timeline in order to
maintain momentum and provide early warning of need for further
support. The entitlement consists of:
- 1 day of consultancy support
- Free attendance at TFSP events including
opportunities to network with other foundation schools
- Termly newsletters
- Access to materials dedicated to a change of category specific
to foundation schools

necessary initial guidance. We also have a programme of
introductory seminars and primary briefings that interested schools
are welcome to attend for further information and an opportunity to
meet consortium staff.
